Future Plans

Key Targets April 2004 - March 2007
Sustain and develop quality projects and an environment to meet needs of those affected by domestic violence in the Foyle area including:
- Completion and monitoring of Second Stage Housing
- Ongoing review and assessment of other existing facilities
- Develop a quality assessment framework for all projects and monitor and respond to requirements
Develop a strategy and a range of interventions to address social exclusion including:
- Engaging pro-actively with Section 75 communities of interest Women and their families with specialised need
- A commitment to meeting European Disability requirements
- Seek funding for an Equality worker
Address needs of women and their families who are socially excluded and require a specialised support response from Foyle Women's Aid, increasing support services:
- For rural women in Limavady and Strabane
- Women, children and young people with challenging behaviours
- Domestic violence survivors with mental and emotional health concerns
- Seek funding for a Health Awareness worker
- Initiate an advisory group to develop a Social Inclusion strategy for Foyle Women's Aid
- Provide domestic violence awareness training to disability sector and minority ethnic staff and non-English language interpreters
Seek sustainable funding to ensure childcare strategy and services are implemented including:
- Campaigning and working with others to increase response and services for children and young people
- Implement children's services, (if necessary) on a phased prioritised approach
- Develop monitoring systems to measure the impact and outcomes of childcare provision
Sustain and develop Foyle Women's Aid support services and encourage others in the social and criminal justice sectors to improve the response to the abuse of human rights and repeat crime that is domestic violence.
- Seek funding with other partners for full time pilot MODV programme
- Explore opportunities to develop response for women who are alleged perpetrators of domestic violence in collaboration with PBNI
- Campaign for legal professionals to address domestic violence as a human rights issue and to be informed of the implications for women
Implement a range of interventions to review sustainability of projects including:
- The Domestic Violence Interagency and Women's Training and Education projects as core activities and the development of the Justice and Human Rights project
- Produce a financial strategy and business plan that meets the requirements of core activities and future developments
- Evaluate funded programmes and prepare exit strategies for project completion
